Smart bike stations at 15 new locations in the city
The Corporation’s bicycle sharing system is being expanded to 15 new locations in the city within two weeks. With this, the civic body will be adding 150 smart bikes to its existing fleet of 250 with the aim to improve the last-mile connectivity. This is the first cycle-sharing system in the country to include electric cycles in its fleet.
The electric cycle may be able to function at a speed of 25-32km/hr
The sharing system had recorded 12,728 rentals between April 1 2019 to May 5 2019.
The civic body has also received 3361 registrations from residents during this period.
