    Individual develops organic diapers using natural materials

    An eco-friendly napkin made from cellulose derivatives

    Preethi Ramadoss, a research scholar from the Department of Crystal Growth Centre of Anna University, has come up with a biodegradable sanitary napkin that does not have any plastics and can degrade within a month.

    • Napkins and diapers made in the market take a long time to degrade, hence are not sustainable in the longer run.
    • The raw materials used are naturally occurring polysaccharides derived from plants and also contains turmeric, vetiver, need and lemon extracts.
    • She is an ardent environmentalist and is also working on multiple projects that are eco-friendly and sustainable.
