Indigenous carbon negative solar car innovation goes to Australia
A Chennai-built solar car is headed to Australia
This team of 15 inventors from Chennai has built a car that runs on solar power. And now they are building another, for a global challenge in Australia.
- The team plans to design a carbon negative solar car for the World Solar Challenge, where the chassis is made of a mixture of homogenised bamboo and other materials.
- The four day route of the challenge is one of the ultimate tests of a vehicle’s hardiness, user-friendliness and feasibility.
- Pavan Kapnadak, one of the team members, says that through different innovations in the car, they want to mitigate the electric vehicle from running on electricity sourced from fossil fuels.
